Today I am going to be reviewing two of my favorite outdoor gadgets that I have. The first is a GoPro Hero 5 and the second is the Turtle Shell 3.0 bluetooth speaker.
I’ve had a GoPro for a while but recently upgraded from a Hero+ to a Hero 5. This newer model has a much higher camera resolution and is entirely waterproof. The built in screen on the back which my old one lacked is so much nicer to get an idea of what you are actually taking a picture of. The Hero 5 also has a removable battery, which means that you can get and charge extras to have longer filming sessions. The Hero+ had a built in battery so you could only use it for as long as the battery lasted.
The Turtle Shell 3.0 is a lesser known product compared to the GoPro, but has been a very useful gadget to have. It is a combination waterproof bluetooth speaker and portable charger. The company claims it can run for 20 hours on a single charge. I have never personally had it running for that long, but I have never gotten it below 50% power when just using the speaker. Using it to charge my phone does make the Turtle Shell lose power more quickly than the speaker, but it can still deliver over a full charge to my phone. It has been very nice to bring with me to the beach and to volleyball tournaments because I don’t have to worry about damaging it, and it saves me from having to bring a seperate speaker or portable charger. The audio quality is very good for a speaker of its size. From higher notes down to the bass, it seems to be able play whatever comes its way.
Overall, I am very happy with both of these devices and they have become valued parts of my gadget collection. It is also nice that they are both very durable and able to handle the elements so you can use them in any facet of life.
